Little things

Lipstick on my teeth
And he leans in to wipe it off with his thumb
Lint on my sweater
And he picks it off without asking
He hovers over me
On a packed train home
And it’s all I can do
To keep from grabbing his lapel
I’ve watched him watch me
And pretended not to notice
I’ve watched him ignore me
And pretended not to care
